special.
Behind Magic Seven is KlangArt by Alex Resch: instrument making that thinks tuning, material, and craft together. The seven tubes are not treated as decoration, but as tuned sound bodies where fundamental tone, overtones, and sustain have to be brought into balance.
KlangArt builds tunings on concert pitch A, planetary tones according to Cousto, C-128, Solfeggio, and historical foundations. Classical harmonies follow equal temperament; other tunings are set as physically pure intervals. The result is a wind chime that feels soft, but is constructed with high technical precision.
Tuning with a system.
On Magic Seven, the Venus planetary tone is at the center. KlangArt does not work out such tunings by feeling alone, but derives them from clear tonal relationships and tunes them so the tubes form a stable sonic field together.
Tubes, precisely made.
The tubes and rods are made especially for KlangArt in a particularly precise process. Usually an aluminium alloy is used because it responds easily, carries for a long time, and works reliably as a sound metal.
Assembly as fine tuning.
With tubes, overtones can cover the fundamental. That is why KlangArt deliberately uses drilling points, assembly, and cords: mass and surface character are tuned to the tubes. Wooden parts are made from native woods and treated with organic oils and waxes.
Sound
The sound comes from seven cleanly tuned aluminium tubes in the Venus planetary tone: the tubes speak softly, resonate for a long time, and place bright overtones above a calm fundamental. Because suspension, drilling points, and cords are matched to the tubes, the tone stays clear rather than hard; the individual strikes connect into floating, melodic harmonies with noticeable depth.

Material
& Format.
KlangArt wind chimes are built with anodized aluminium tubes. For the woodwork, KlangArt uses local woods, mainly alder, treated with oil and wax.
