Every crystal sound pyramid follows the proportions of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Seen from above, its perfect geometry is revealed: height to half base equals the golden ratio φ. It is exactly this geometry that makes the crystal sing.

Dieter Schrade had long been drawn to pyramids and the particular energy they create. During a journey through the Mojave Desert in California, one idea would not let him go: to build a pyramid of pure crystal matching the proportions of the Great Pyramid of Cheops at Giza.
The result is an instrument that produces a pure yet powerful, long-lasting sound that seems never to end — and it moved him deeply.
That is how the first crystal sound pyramid came into being more than 20 years ago — today one of the most effective instruments in sound therapy and sound healing, made of 100 % pure crystal.

Cut after the Giza model.
To recreate the sharp-edged form of the pyramids of Giza, the sound pyramids receive an elaborate cut. These pyramids stand out visually and sonically through their “finesse”.
The next step beyond the singing bowl.
Those who work with these pyramids experience their sound as the next step after the singing bowl – finer, clearer and carrying even longer.
Overtones from KP-200 up.
From size KP-200 a second mallet is included: the first strike is made with the large mallet near the corner of the base, a second with the smaller mallet on an upper strut – layering the fundamental with a rich spectrum of overtones.
Energising through pyramid energy.
Through its pyramid energy the pyramid is also used to energise water and food – and it works even when it is not struck, purely through the field it radiates into the room.
Only the pyramid sings.
After the crystal sound pyramid produced such a long-sustaining, moving sound, Dieter Schrade wanted to know how other geometric forms would sound. So he crafted tetrahedra, cubes and octahedra from crystal as well – all platonic solids.
The result: nothing. Neither cube nor tetrahedron nor octahedron sings. Only the crystal sound pyramid sings.
Even the attempt to make a glass pyramid of identical dimensions sing fails: a short, hard tone that dies away within seconds.

Every crystal sound pyramid is individually shaped, cut, polished and checked for its sound.

Straight from Dieter Schrade's glass workshop: the cut is decisive for both appearance and sound. Every face, edge and proportion is worked by hand until the Cheops geometry is exactly right.
